Supporting the Armed Forces

 

Bringing a new generation of Full Fibre to towns across the UK is no small task. With infrastructure projects of this scale, many of the skills required can be found in the men and women who have trained and served in the Armed Forces. As a result, we have committed to ensure that all employees who currently service in the Armed Forces, whether regular or reserve, or those who have served in the past, should face no disadvantage compared to others.

Former and current forces workers are a core part of our team, and we look forward to welcoming many more members to the Zzoomm community.

 

  • I served 30 years in the military and left in November 2020 as a Warrant Officer after completing numerous overseas deployments on exercises and operations. I joined the Army as a Chef and left my trade in 2011 as a Unit Catering Manager within an Infantry unit to take up a new challenge as a Recruiter at Aldershot Army Careers Office, looking after a small team. My final years in the army were spent as a Recruitment Officer in Cardiff, which aided my transition into starting my role at Zzoomm as a Recruiter within Telecoms.

  • I’m currently serving with the 156 Regiment RLC Reserves. Here at Zzoomm, I work as a Lead Build Assurance Engineer, helping build the Full Fibre network of the future.

  • I learned my trade in the Royal Signals as a telecommunications engineer. I have planned, deployed, built, and maintain Fibre and Telecommunications networks all over the world. From forward operating bases and large military camps to building city wide civilian networks, and now I’m helping Zzoomm build theirs.
